Jet Bank has officially launched its operations and its mobile application, marking a historic milestone for the Albanian financial sector as the first 100% digital bank in the country.
At the launch event held at the Palace of Brigades, with the participation of representatives from state institutions, the banking sector, international partners, media, and Jet Bank executives, the vision, technology, and new standard that the bank aims to bring to the transformation of the Albanian financial sector were presented.
Discussions focused on the role of digitalization in economic development and the modernization of financial services, making them faster, more transparent, and more secure for citizens.
Following the receipt of its full license from the Bank of Albania in March 2026 and with the support of international partners such as Backbase, Mastercard, Amazon Web Services, Oracle, Microsoft Azure, Jumio, Facilization, and others, Jet Bank is officially starting operations in Albania with a gradual rollout of account openings.
In this first phase, individuals registered on the waiting list will receive email invitations to activate their accounts and begin using the bank’s services. This process will allow Jet Bank to ensure the highest quality experience for its early customers, while access will be progressively expanded nationwide.
In her opening remarks, Jet Bank CEO Ms. Fatbardha Rino described the arrival of the first 100% digital bank as a moment that Albanians have been waiting for and for which the country is ready.

The trust of investors, partners, the team, and the thousands of Albanians who registered on our platform before the product was launched is our greatest privilege and responsibility. We do not promise to be the biggest bank, but the simplest one, which will give people back their most valuable asset: time and freedom in managing their finances,” said Ms. Rino.
During the application presentation, she emphasized that Jet Bank aims to be remembered not only as the first 100% digital bank in Albania, but as the institution that changed expectations and opened a new chapter for the banking sector in the country.
The event was attended by former Member of the British Parliament and friend of Albania, Mr. John Grogan, as well as the British Ambassador to Albania, Mr. Nicholas Abbott, who praised the importance of this innovative investment for the Albanian banking system as another bridge of cooperation between the two countries.
From the diplomatic corps, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Albania, Mr. Reinout Vos, also attended the event.
On behalf of international partners, the Executive Vice President for Southeast Europe at Mastercard, Bartosz Ciołkowski, shared the company’s vision for the future of payments and the importance of this collaboration in building a fully digital financial system in Albania.
The launch of Jet Bank comes at a time when Albania is advancing toward the digitalization of its economy and alignment with European Union standards in the financial sector. In this context, the Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, emphasized the importance of cooperation between the public and private sectors in accelerating the country’s digital transformation.
Interest in Jet Bank has been extraordinary even before operations began. More than 70,000 citizens have registered on the waiting list, while more than 500 people have tested the platform in recent months, continuously helping improve the user experience.
With a fully digital operating model, advanced technology, and strategic international partnerships, Jet Bank is no longer a distant future, but the standard of the future of banking services happening today in Albania.
